Getting to INVESCO
More than 75-thousand people will pack into INVESCO Field at Mile High Stadium tonight to listen to Barack Obama give his acceptance speech. The event will force the closure of more than five miles of Interstate 25 - so organizers of the Democratic National Convention are urging those who are ATTENDING - to leave the car behind. New voting data released today is now shifting focus to the role of Native American voters in western states - and how they may be quote - a secret weapon for democrats . Colorado Places
 Thousands have flocked to Denver for the 2008 Democratic National Convention. Delegates will spend time at the Pepsi Center in addition to taking in the sights of the Mile-High City - many of which were around during the last convention in 1908. For this month's installment of Colorado Places - KUNC's Brian Larson visits some of those enduring landmarks.

Longs Peak Scottish/Irish Highland
Festival takes place at the Stanley Fairgrounds, Estes Park, September
4-7. There will be pipers piping and drummers drumming, kilts and
plumed bonnets, brave steeds bearing medieval jousters in combat,
caber, stone and hammer throwing athletes. As well as international
singers and entertainers; dancers executing the Highland, Folk and
Irish dances; dogs indigenous to the British Isles; food; merchants and
crafters with Celtic merchandise.

TriMedia Film Festival
KUNC and the TriMedia Film Festival present Coyote at the Lincoln Center in Fort Collins on Friday, September 5. Coyote is a fast-paced action thriller spiced with strong characters and biting satire. After easily smuggling their deported friend back across the Mexican border, Steve and J start a "kinder, gentler people-smuggling" business. At first it seems like any other startup business, but there's a price to pay for stepping over the line. The film screens at 7 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Lincoln Center.
