High Park Fire: How You Can Help

While evacuees await news of their homes, Coloradans in the surrounding area are looking for ways to help. HelpColoradoNow.org, a partnership between the Colorado Division of Emergency Management and Colorado Voluntary Organization Active in Disaster, says volunteers are not needed at this time.

Slideshow: High Park Fire Pictures From Buckhorn Mtn.

The transmitter site at Buckhorn Mtn. was threatened by the High Park Fire which started on Saturday. The fire quickly grew and swept the site, knocking out power. KUNC was knocked off the air and county communications moved to battery backup.

Editor's NoteThe High Park Fire started on Saturday, June 9th. Winds and high temperatures helped the fire rapidly spread.
