My journalism career started in college when I worked as a reporter and Weekend Edition host for WEKU-FM, an NPR member station in Richmond, KY. I graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a B.A. in broadcast journalism.

Most recently, I worked at Iowa Public Radio as a reporter and fill-in host for Morning Edition and All Things Considered. Much of my reporting in Des Moines focused on the GOP Presidential Primary and the Iowa Caucuses.

Colorado To Use Immigration Database To Verify Voters

Colorado now has access to a federal immigration database designed to check the immigration status of voters. Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler says he finalized the agreement Friday with the Department of Homeland Security to use the verification system.

Colorado State Fair Kicks Off

The 140th annual Colorado State Fair began this morning in Pueblo and runs through Labor Day. But, the fairs opening weekend coincides with another Colorado event drawing a large number of spectators, the USA Pro Cycling Challenge which wraps up in Denver Sunday.
