Sure, everybody knows it gets really cold and can snow a lot this time of year across much of the nation.

But check out these reports and headlines about the blizzard that blanketed much of the midwest this weekend and what's coming in the next few days:

-- "People are still digging out from this weekend's storm, which was the state's worst in nearly two decades. The massive storm produced the fifth highest snowfall on record for the Twin Cities, and led to the collapse of the Metrodome." ( Minnesota Public Radio)

-- "In the Chicago area, wind chills as low as -14 have been recorded in Aurora. At O'Hare, the wind chill was -11 as of 7 a.m., at Midway -9." ( Chicago Tribune)

-- "Expect to double your commute time this morning. Area interstates are windblown tire-tracks." ( Cleveland's Plain Dealer)

-- "In (New York's) Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties, there's a lake-effect snow warning in effect through Wednesday morning. The hardest-hit areas could see up to 18 inches of snow." ( Buffalo News)

-- "Another Dose Of Frigid Air." ( Weather.com)

-- "Bundle Up: Big Freeze Expected Tonight." ( Florida Today; yes, that's right, Florida Today.)

Stay warm, all.
