If you’re headed to Aspen, you can leave your bike at home.
The new bike share system is set to roll out this week with test runs between now and the launch party on June 5th. The bikes will be available to the public beginning June 6th. According to the Aspen Times, Aspen is the first mountain community in the state with a bike share program.

Unlike Denver and Boulder, which both use B Cycles, Aspen will be using WE-Cycles “designed especially for Aspen,” according to the Aspen Times. The $500,000 system, which includes 13 stations around Aspen was funded by several public and private partners. According to WE-Cycles website, the bikes will be “ready to ride until the snow flies.”
