Banner Considers Move to Fort Collins

The healthcare battle in Northern Colorado is intensifying with a proposal by Banner Health to expand its medical presence in Fort Collins. Banner currently operates facilities in Greeley and Loveland.

While nothing has been finalized – the Arizona-based company has submitted plans to the Fort Collins planning department for an almost 212-thousand square foot medical campus that could include a hospital along Harmony Road near Hewlett Packard. A decision on the proposal is not expected for another 9 months.

The move is seen as the latest in an ongoing turf battle between University of Colorado Health Systems – formerly Poudre Valley Health Systems – and Banner Health. UCHS operates hospitals in Fort Collins and along I-25 in Loveland.
