The European has renewed its attempts to solve the continents financial problem. EU finance officials approved a bailout package today for Portugal. Its worth about $110 billion and will be distributed under a three-year program run jointly with the IMF. Yesterday, the IMF said its providing another two and a quarter billion dollars in loans to Ireland as part of that countrys bailout program. Transcript provided by NPR, Copyright NPR.
