On NBC's The Today Show this morning, former Vice President Dick Cheney talked about the heart pump that now keeps him alive and said that he may need a heart transplant.
"I'll have to make a decision at some point whether or not I want to go for a transplant," Cheney said, "but we haven't addressed that yet."
Cheney, who turns 70 on Jan. 30, has suffered five heart attacks. Here's the part of the interview in which he talked about his health:

-- Cheney repeated his prediction that President Obama won't be elected to a second term.
-- He declined to comment on whether former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, a fellow Republican, is qualified to be president. "I'm not going to get in the business ... of saying 'this one is and this one isn't'," Cheney said.
-- The former vice president said he offered "about three different times" to step down and not run for a second term. "I thought [then-President George W. Bush] needed to have the ability to do whatever was necessary [to get re-elected]," he said.
