Colorado’s unemployment rate fell again in March to the lowest figure since January of 2009. The state’s figure remains well below the national unemployment rate of 7.6 percent.
Colorado’s unemployment rate fell from February to March by one-tenth of a percentage point to 7.1 percent.
Private sector jobs increased by 1,100 and government jobs decreased by 600 creating a total gain of 500 nonfarm payroll jobs in March.
The decrease in the unemployment rate according to the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment was caused by a larger increase in the number of people reporting their status as employed than in the number of people actively participating in the labor force.
