Hey Colorado, Are You Ready For Snow Yet? Cuz, It's Snowing On Pikes Peak...
Lots of rain moved into Colorado on Wednesday, a welcome sight in the drought plagued state. The National Weather Service also issued a Winter Storm Watch though... for Pikes Peak.
Update 9/13/12: Take a look at the summit of Pikes Peak on the next day.
Just look at the picture above, it's a screen grab from the webcams on Pikes Peak. That is snow. Take a look for yourself with Colorado Springs' webcams at the summit. It's only September 12th, but it looks like the warning was right from the National Weather Service in Pueblo.
The warning was for a possible 8 inches of snow. The Colorado Springs Gazette got the best reaction to the warning for publication this morning:
"Holy moly! That's not gonna happen," exclaimed Brenda Wilson, a Pikes Peak Ranger, after hearing the news on Tuesday afternoon. "It's too warm."
Who's ready to break out the skis though?
