Ira Glass Boulder Show To Benefit Flood Relief

George Barcos

Update 9/23/2013 - KUNC would like to everyone that came out to Chautauqua Auditorium Saturday night to see Ira Glass. With your generosity, and Ira’s help, we raised $10,657 for the Foothills Flood Relief Fund.

--

KUNC will donate 50% of all ticket sales from remaining tickets for Ira Glass’ Reinventing Radio, this Saturday at Boulder’s Chautauqua Auditorium, to Colorado flood relief efforts.

“Colorado residents are facing tremendous hardship as they try to recover from the unprecedented flooding across the state,” said President/CEO Neil Best. “We want to support the recovery efforts, and this upcoming show provides an opportunity for us to contribute to the cause. We encourage others to contribute as well.”

Cash and check donations will also be accepted at the show. All donations will go to the Foothills Flood Relief Fund, established by Foothills United Way in response to the impact of the severe flooding across Boulder & Broomfield Counties. The funds raised through this effort will be used toward health and human services for those affected by the flooding in Boulder and Broomfield counties.

Glass is host and producer of public radio’s This American Life. Reinventing Radio is his vision of storytelling and how he uses it to put together This American Life.

Tickets for the show are on sale at tickets.chautauqua.com. Tickets are $40-$60.

As Director of Community Engagement for KUNC & The Colorado Sound, I look for ways to bring the programs and personalities you hear on the radio “out of the box” to engage and interact in live settings.
