The Lumineers: Live @ Swallow Hill

Mark Sink

Before they were Grammy nominated. Before they were live from London, Telluride, Saturday Night Live, or all points in between, they were Live @ Swallow Hill.

Denver’s very own The Lumineers are riding an incredible wave of success with their self titled debut. It’s a long road away from working odd-jobs just to live, from grabbing just a few items and moving across the country to Colorado. Just think about this, had Wesley Schultz and Jeremia Fraites not met Neyla Pekarek from a Craigslist ad for a cellist, would they really find themselves nominated for Best New Artist or Americana Album?

This show was recorded live on December 9th at Daniels Hall in Denver. That Friday in December at Swallow Hill was a special night, Reed Foehl (check out Reed's set here) was on the bill as well as The Lumineers.

I’m not a Colorado native (did you know that "I'm from Missouri" means "I'm skeptical of the matter and not easily convinced?") but I have lived here for most of my life and couldn't imagine leaving. After graduating from Colorado State University, I did what everyone wants to do; I moved to the mountains and skied, hiked, and hid from responsibility! Our listeners in the mountains may know me from my time in Steamboat Springs and Vail or as the voice of the Battle Mountain Huskies Hockey team in Vail.
