National Western Stock Show officials are considering a move from their longtime Denver location.

The current site puts constraints on parking and crowd size, which was just under 645,000 this year.  National Western Stock Show President Paul Andrews says right now the organization is considering several sites. The DIA option would be developed in conjunction with Gaylord Entertainment, a company that plans to build a western-themed hotel and entertainment plaza.

“That would be our ultimate goal is to develop something that can become a celebration of Western heritage in Colorado,” he says.

Estimates show that it’s cheaper to move and build on a new site, rather than revamping the current one, according to Andrews. No timeline has been set yet for when National Western Stock Show officials will make a decision on the move.
