NPR's David Folkenflik Named One Of The 50 Most Influential People In Media

The Wire blog at the popular trade site Business Insider recently named its picks for the 50 most influential people in media in 2010. Among "The Wire 50" are many names you might expect, like Julian Assange, Tina Brown, Steve Jobs, Oprah, Sarah Palin and Jon Stewart. And sitting right alongside those household names at number 48: NPR's own media correspondent David Folkenflik.

In choosing David, The Wire cited the consistent quality of his reporting on shows like Morning Edition and All Things Considered, his insightful Twitter feed and how he "admirably" handles covering his own employer.

Landing on this list serves as a fitting acknowledgment of all the attention David's work has received in recent months. His thought-provoking stories often spark debate and chatter, especially his rumination on the value of journalism school today and his two-part series looking at ideology in the media. Poynter has also praised David's use of Twitter, showing how he uses a series of tweets to summarize and contextualize breaking news.

You can find out more about David's work by checking out his story archive on NPR.org and his .
