We will, we promise, have plenty of Civil War-related posts in coming months about its 150th anniversary and the impact that war had on this nation.
And NPR has already done some plenty of pieces — such as Kee Malesky's report that " the Civil War's first death was an accident" and All Things Considered 's look at how Charleston, S.C., where the first shots rang out on April 12, 1861, is "still figuring out how to talk about the war and commemorate the anniversary."
But then there's something like the photo that showed up on The Columbus Dispatch's Tumblr page today.
According to the newspaper, when Civil War re-enactors get together in the area, Star Wars fans — in their gear — often show up. And that happened again on Sunday at the Ohio Statehouse.
Update at 1:55 p.m. ET:By the way, the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press said Friday that its latest survey shows that "more than half of Americans (56%) say the Civil War is still relevant."
