Palin to Speak in Colorado Tonight

Creative Commons

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin will be the keynote speaker at a fundraiser for veterans tonight in Lakewood. The event was scheduled before the death of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

The event is a fundraiser for a charity for families of fallen service members, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.  The 2008 GOP Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin will headline.  She’ll share the stage with retired Lieutenant General William Boykin.

Boykin is a former senior military intelligence official who made disparaging remarks about Islam while helping to lead the war on terror after Sept. 11. Boykin said that America’s enemy was Satin and that one Muslim Somali warlord was an idol-worshipper.  He later apologized for the comments and said he hadn’t meant to insult Islam.

The Colorado event and fundraiser featuring General Boykin and Governor Palin was rescheduled from an original date earlier this year.
