Pelosi Back On Schedule After Brief Italy Hospital Stay

Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the House minority leader and former speaker, was hospitalized in Italy during a visit but has been released and resumed her schedule.

Pelosi, 70, took ill Monday, causing her to skip some scheduled meetings with Italian officials.

Nadeam Elshami, Pelosi's spokeman issued this statement:

"After several flights yesterday in Afghanistan, and a long flight back to Italy that arrived early this morning, Leader Pelosi was not feeling well. This morning in Rome, the Leader was advised to visit a clinic, and the closest medical facility was a hospital. The Leader is now resuming her schedule in Italy."

And on her Twitter page, was this:

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes-had a very productive trip to Afghanistan and am in Italy resuming meetings now.
