PHOTO: Black Forest Fire From Space

The Black Forest Fire was confirmed to have grown radically in size overnight. This NASA photo shows the size of fire Wednesday.

Unlike the last sat photo we posted which showed off Colorado and New Mexico, this one focuses in solely on the Black Forest Fire northeast of Colorado Springs. As NASA writes at the Earth Observatory:

On June 12, 2013, the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA’s Terra satellite captured this image of the Black Forest fire burning north of Colorado Springs. Red outlines indicate hot spots where MODIS detected unusually warm surface temperatures associated with fires.
