It was the beginning of 2006 and a catchy song in Spanglish titled "No Coke" hit the emerging Mexican indie scene by storm; five years later, Quiero Club is arguably today's most eclectic and critically acclaimed Mexican pop band. The Monterrey quintet comes from a new school of pop adventurers constantly looking for the new intercontinental zeitgeist. It's a breed that includes Javiera Mena, Hello Seahorse! and Denver — manufacturers of the new generation's anthems.
The band has a brand new single titled "Que Hacer En Caso de Oir Voces" ("What To Do If You Start To Hear Voices"), a ghostly tune on its way to become a hit. The song is also proof of Quiero Club's assorted qualities and diverse backgrounds. With two superb albums under their arm ( Woof from 2006, Nueva America from 2009), the band is crafting their third. In the meantime, they've kept momentum up through micro-releases, offering singles for free download.
The title of the song, "Que Hacer En Caso de Oir Voces" suggests a sort of dark, hypnotic track; instead, it's a cheerful and thrilling blueprint for overcoming the insecurities and obstacles of youth. Quiero Club: Psicólogos Pop
A principios del 2006 una pegadiza canción llamada "No Coke", cantada en inglés y español, tomo la escena indie Mexicana por sorpresa; cinco años después, se podría decir Quiero Club es la banda mas ecléctica y aclamada del pop mexicano. El quinteto de Monterrey nace de una nueva escuela de aventureros del pop, que constantemente buscan un símbolo para esta generación. Es una clase de músicos que incluye a Javiera Mena, Hello Seahorse! Y Denver— los creadores de los himnos de una nueva juventud.
La banda acaba de estrenar una canción titulada "Que Hacer En Caso de Oír Voces", un tema fantasmagórico que sin duda se convertirá en un éxito. La canción es prueba de que Quiero Club tiene un sin fin de cualidades y orígenes diversos. Habiendo ya publicado dos estupendos álbumes ( Wolfen el 2006, Nueva Américaen el 2009) la banda esta ahora realizando un tercer disco. Mientras tanto, mantienen las expectativas a través de pequeños lanzamientos, ofreciendo canciones para descargar gratis.
