State health officials Thursday issued a boil water advisory for the town of Lyons due to the severe flooding. Only bottled water, or water that has been boiled for at least three minutes, should be used for drinking, brushing teeth, washing dishes and preparing food.
The Town of Lyons issued the advisory as a precaution. Officials say no contamination has been detected.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, as well as the Water Quality Control Division, will be working with impacted communities to address water and wastewater systems.
