Revamp of Governor’s Energy Office Passes First Test

A bill to reorganize the Governor’s Energy Office and expand its mission to include the promotion of oil and gas development alongside clean energy cleared its first hurdle at the capitol on Wednesday. Governor John Hickenlooper supports the change, but other Democrats are wary.

KUNC’s state capitol reporter Bente Birkeland has more.

Bente Birkeland has been reporting on state legislative issues for KUNC and Rocky Mountain Community Radio since 2006. Originally, from Minnesota, Bente likes to hike and ski in her spare time. She keeps track of state politics throughout the year but is especially busy during the annual legislative session from January through early May.
