Runaway Sheep Captured Hearts In New Zealand

RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

Good morning. I'm Renee Montagne, with a tribute to the late Shrek the Sheep that wouldn't be shorn. He captured hearts in New Zealand, where his kind far out number humans. According to the Telegraph newspaper, Shrek escaped his flock and his fleecing for six years. When he was finally found in a cave, his overgrown fleece made him appear triple his size. Until his death over the weekend, Shrek had appeared at charity events and even met the prime minister.
