Russian Motorists Fall For Ruble Prank

RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

Good morning, I'm Renee Montagne, with reports of a big morning traffic jam in Moscow. Drivers stopped in the middle of a 10-lane freeway to pick up what looked like strewn money. It turns out, the road was not paved with rubles, just bookmarks printed to look like 1,000 ruble notes.

You can't blame Russians for falling for the prank. Last summer, a similar traffic jam happened there, but with real rubles, police say bribe money, 350,000 tossed onto the road.
