Song Break: Engelbert Humperdinck's In The News, Let's Hear Him Sing

There's word from across the Atlantic today that the BBC has chosen 75-year-old — a name you may have to be this blogger's age to recognize — to represent the U.K. in this year's Eurovision Song Contest.

We'll leave it to others (such as our friends at NPR Music) to debate the wisdom of choosing Humperdinck — who hasn't had a hit in 40 years but is, as Katie Taylor of the BBC says, "an established international musical legend."

After another day of following news about death and destruction, we just want an excuse to see and hear him sing Release Me from back in the day, so to speak.
