St. Vrain Valley School District Wins Race to the Top Funding

Northern Colorado’s St. Vrain Valley School District is among 16 winners in the latest round of federal Race to the Top grants.

The 16 schools represent 55 school districts in 11 states. 372 applicants from around the country applied for the chance to share nearly $400 million in funding.

“Today’s announcement marks yet a third phase in the Race to the Top program, which focuses this time on the classroom level reforms that will encourage transformative change in teaching and learning,” says White House Domestic Policy Council Director Cecilia Munoz.

While the exact grant amount has not yet been revealed – the St. Vrain Valley School District had requested $16,589,553.00.

Last week the state of Colorado was the recipient of nearly $30 million in the Race to the Top-Early Learning Challenge Competition.
