Supporters of Amendment 64 Have Raised $1.4 Million

A Colorado ballot measure that seeks to legalize small amounts of marijuana has a new supporter, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Colorado Montana and Wyoming chapter.

The NAACP endorses Amendment 64 saying marijuana laws disproportionately impact communities of color and low-income individuals.

The initiative would regulate marijuana like alcohol in the state. Colorado is one of three states where voters this fall will consider legalizing marijuana for recreational use for adults over 21.

According to I-News, Supporters of Amendment 64 in Colorado have so far raised $1.4 million ahead of the November vote [graph]. That figure far outpaces the money raised by the opposition.
