The 'Ride' was back for another year in the Colorado capitol of festivals - Telluride. An all-star lineup greeted those that made it. Didn't make it? We have you covered.
Moving up from 2012's date in August, the second year fest brought together festivarians, rock fans and more for two-days in the legendary box canyon. Performers were regularly wowed by the landscape, the audience equally so with the lineup.
2013's Ride Festival featured the likes of Cake, Rodrigo y Gabriela (they wowed the crowd), Son Volt, The Revivalists, Steve Earle and more. Colorado stalwart Hazel Miller woke up the crowds for Sunday brunch and Big Head Todd & the Monsters were back for another year.
There were also surprises, with not one - but two - John Oates sightings. Another act, the U.K. based Brothers and Bones were lucky enough to make their stateside debut in Telluride. As the M.C./Host of the festival quipped, 'they're going to be real disappointed when they get to Indiana.'
The festival headliner was David Byrne & St. Vincent, touring for the past year on the back of their duo debut Love This Giant. Compared to the relatively austere staging for previous acts (wouldn't want to upstage the scenery) their stage show was immense. The lights and their 10-member band dazzled the crowd with selections from their album, plus some choice hits from the Byrne and St. Vincent catalog.
