Talking with Colorado's Wendy Woo

Robin Hoch, violist, singer & composer in The Wendy Woo Band
Robin Hoch, violist, singer & composer in The Wendy Woo Band

Singer-songwriter Wendy Woo has quite a busy upcoming concert schedule this month. KUNC's Peter Johnson asked her about several topics --her unusual name, the viola as an instrument, and a special new love song.

This poignant song, "Where Have You Been?" -- featured on The Wendy Woo Band's 2011 release, "Austerity" -- was written by their viola player, Robin Hoch, and she performed it at Wendy's wedding.

Wendy Woo and The Wendy Woo Band have been criss-crossing the country with their energetic music-making, and you can catch them at these Front Range venues over the next ten days:

  • Wednesday, January 11 – Oskar Blues, Longmont (an hour documentary on Wendy Woo)
  • Friday, January 13 – The Exchange Tavern, Westminster
  • Saturday, January 14 – Bellevue Bean, Belluvue (sold out)
  • Tuesday, January 17 – The Mandolin Café, Loveland
  • Friday, January 20 – Oskar Blues, Longmont
  • Saturday, January 21 – Swallow Hill, Denver (with Nina Storey, their 10th anniversary together at S.H.)
