It's been an emotional week for the area, and especially for residents directly affected by the Waldo Canyon Fire.  Those who live in the evacuated areas in Colorado Springs have been anxiously awaiting word of their homes, many of which burned earlier in the week. On Thursday, fire officials were optimistic about progress, while city officials delivered some dire news.

One person has been found dead at a home destroyed by the fire. Authorities say an unknown number of people from the evacuation zone are unaccounted for and they’re trying to find those residents.

Preliminary reports show that 346 homes have been destroyed by the blaze. Officials currently estimate the wildfire is at 16,750 acres and 15% containment.
