Want To Go Hiking? Check This List First

With the warm weather finally upon us, you may feel the itch to get outside and take a hike. But in Boulder County, some trails may be best to avoid.

Most of the Heil Valley Ranch trail system in Boulder County, with the lone exception of its 1.3-mile Lichen Loop has been closed. Most of the closures are due to wet conditions, but the Greenbelt Plateau and Marshall Mesa Trailheads will only be closed from on Sunday, May 19 for the Superior Morgul Road Race.

Closed Trails in Boulder County

  • Boulder Falls
  • Picture Rock Rail
  • Ponderosa Loop
  • Wapiti Trail
  • Wild Turkey Trail
  • Marshall Mesa Trailheads
  • Greenbelt Plateau
  • Flatirons Vista
  • Doudy Draw

You can check on trail conditions before you head out here.

Good news if you live in Larimer County, who are reporting on their website most of their trails are in good shape and are open.
