Environmentalists and Oil and Gas Companies Disagree on Rule

Environmental groups and the oil and gas industry are at odds when it comes to a new rule on hydraulic fracturing. All sides agree that the chemicals used in fracturing should be made public, but they don’t agree on how and when. State regulators delayed a vote on the rule Monday evening and will deliberate more at a hearing next week in Greeley. KUNC’s State Capitol reporter Bente Birkeland has more.

'MythBusters' Confirms Cannonball Can Destroy House

The Discovery Channel program MythBusters took safety precautions, going to a California firing range for a segment involving a cannon. They aimed the cannon at water-filled barrels and a concrete wall. But when they fired, the cannonball sailed over the targets, toward a house. People sleeping inside woke to find the cannonball ripped through the house and it struck a minivan.

Nine Colorado Post Offices Taken Off Closure List

New Raymer is one of nine Colorado towns that have been removed from the USPS closure list. The agency is considering each closure on a case-by-case basis and is expected to make more announcements in the coming months.

After alerting dozens of rural post offices across Colorado about proposed closures, the US Postal Service has decided to spare nine locations across the state. More announcements are expected in the coming months as the USPS considers shuttering the offices on a case-by-case basis.
