Hundreds of Firefighters are struggling to contain an out of control wildfire that’s scorched more than 37,000 acres northwest of Fort Collins.

Management of the High Park Fire burning west of Fort Collins has been turned over to a federal Type 1 team today. KUNC’s Erin O’Toole spoke to KUNC’s Kirk Siegler about what that means for fighting the 37,000 acre blaze.

Editor's Note: The High Park Fire started on Saturday, June 9th. Winds and high temperatures helped the fire rapidly spread.
