As crews continue to battle more than a dozen wildfires in Colorado, many cities, counties and federal agencies are ordering fire restrictions.
Citing winds, high temperatures, and the lack of moisture, the Boulder County Sheriff’s office has ordered a fire ban for unincorporated parts of the county.
Amid high fire danger and continued hot, dry weather, some Colorado communities are enhancing their fire restrictions this week.
In the wake of the Hewlett Fire, which scorched 7,685 acres, Larimer County Commissioners have decided to extend open fire restrictions into the summer. However, the restrictions will not apply to the use and sale of fireworks.
Cooler weather is expected for Colorado going into the Labor Day weekend but there’s also a forecast for increased fire danger today.
