Democratic Senator Mark Udall says he’s seeing a “sense of urgency” in the U.S. mission in Afghanistan. Senator Udall traveled to Afghanistan as part of a U.S. Congressional Delegation this week to talk with military leaders, the intelligence community and senior Department of State Officials.

An amendment that would give schools more flexibility in deciding what constitutes nutritious meals for children has been included in the agriculture appropriations bill. Colorado Senator Mark Udall offered the amendment after USDA officials proposed limits on starchy vegetables that schools can serve.

A bill that would make it easier to create off-season jobs in resort communities has cleared the U.S. House of Representatives and is now headed to the U.S. Senate for consideration.
