A proposed ban on medical marijuana dispensaries in Fort Collins continues to lead in the polls-- 53 to 47 percent. A final count is expected after 5 p.m. today. Regardless of the outcome, the state’s largest union is already promising to continue its fight to legalize medical marijuana.

Vote counting ended early in Fort Collins Tuesday night due to inclement weather. At 10 pm, Question 300 was leading in the preliminary elections results. That left proponents declaring victory – and opponents waiting until a final vote count.

The medical marijuana industry in Fort Collins made headlines this week when employees at seven dispensaries voted to unionize. And Nov. 1, voters in the city will decide whether to ban dispensaries.  This is one of several topics that our media partners at Colorado Public Television and  “Colorado Inside Out” are discussing.
