Carnegie Mellon's autonomous car, developed with General Motors, is by all appearances a normal Cadillac SRX crossover — except for the big red button in the middle of the dashboard. In an emergency, the button allows the car to be switched immediately back to standard driving mode.

A man who claimed sexual abuse by former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky has reached a multimillion-dollar settlement with the university, the first of numerous such claims expected to be resolved in the coming days.
Logan Stevenson, the terminally ill two-year-old who acted as best man at his parents' wedding Saturday, has died, according to media reports and his mother's Facebook page. The family's story touched many people who learned about Logan's parents' rush to get married in time for him to be part of the ceremony.
"For such a small person, he has touched thousands of people," one of Logan's aunts, Kellie Young, told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review last week.
In a musty, old row house in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia, Jim Bear is about to begin his radio show.

Right now G-town is just an Internet radio station. But if the folks at G-town Radio are successful, they'll soon be broadcasting their signal over low-power FM, a new class of non-commercial FM radio.
