Colorado will receive some $1.7 million to help cover the cost of a new seven mile trail link of the Rocky Mountain Greenway and improve access to Rocky Mountain National Park and Chimney Rock National Monument.
Visitation at Rocky Mountain National Park was up slightly last year to 3,229,618. That’s about 2 percent higher than 2011 figures. Park Spokeswoman Kyle Patterson says the increase is partially due to a change in how traffic is tracked.
