Light rain and snow this weekend over Colorado’s high country wasn’t enough to extinguish a wildfire burning in Rocky Mountain National Park, but it did help firefighters get a handle on the blaze.

Oct 14: Fern Lake Fire Grows In Rocky Mountain National Park

Light rain and snow fell on the Fern Lake Fire yesterday aiding the firefighters’ efforts. The fire has grown to 673 acres and is 5 percent contained. The extended weather forecast is for a warming and drying trend which could increase fire activity.
