Boulder officials are cheering the narrow victory of two ballot measures that will allow the city to move ahead with plans to start a municipal utility. But the city also says the results don’t mean the city will sever its ties with Xcel Energy overnight.
A proposed ban on medical marijuana dispensaries in Fort Collins continues to lead in the polls-- 53 to 47 percent. A final count is expected after 5 p.m. today. Regardless of the outcome, the state’s largest union is already promising to continue its fight to legalize medical marijuana.
Denver voters were asked to decide if business should be required to offer mandatory sick leave to their workers. Initiative 300 was endorsed by labor unions and restaurant workers – but not by owners and business interests. And in the end voters overwhelmingly said “no”.
